Grid Connect Solar Power
Solar power is the conversion of sunlight into DC electricity via solar panels which are located on
the northern aspect of your roof.
A grid connected system consists of the following components
1. SOLAR MODULES- PV (photovoltaic) solar panels produce sunlight into DC (direct current) electricity. Thes panels are secured to your roof on a northern aspect to optimise sunlight exposure to these panels. The more sun- the more energy you produce.
2. INVERTER-
This converts the DC electricity to AC ( alternate current) electricity so the green energy you are producing can be passed on into your communities electricity grid
3.SOLAR GUARD-
This is just your circuit protection to comply with Australian standards wiring rules.
4. ELECTRICAL PANEL-
This is where your home, business or schools main electrical wiring feeds from. This is where a solar meter will be placed to feed your energy into the grid.
5. UTILITY GRID-
This is the mains electricity line which connects to your home. It runs from a coal fired power plant to deliver electricity each home / business etc in your community. As more people produce solar energy, more green energy will be fed back into the utility grid and less coal will be required to be burned and therfore less carbon emissions.
